LGBT- gay rights, homophobia, just my thoughts.

This is probably going to end up being a ramble. But I really wanted to make a blog post about this.

What is LGBT? LGBT stands for the Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender community. It is a community of people who’s sexuality is one of those listed here. As you must be aware, many people in this world do not accept this community. They think it is “unnatural” or “un religious”  or maybe just simply wrong.

The fact that being straight or heterosexual is the norm and anything else un-acceptable (to some people) is beyond me. I fail to understand how someone can be shamed for loving another human, romantically. If we are “allowed” to love a person of the opposite sex, then why isn’t it okay to love someone of the same? I agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but this opinion is to be kept to one-self and not forced on others. Maybe homosexuality is wrong to you, but that doesn’t give you the licence to force it onto other people.

On the note of homophobia, the fact that people who are homosexual or bisexual are treated differently then those who are homosexual, only because of the fact that they are homosexual, just doesn’t sit well with me. I fail to understand why someone’s sexuality is a determinant of their treatment. The fact that they love someone their own sex does NOT MATTER AT ALL. It is, after all, another person they are loving, another human. In some countries, people are KILLED for being homosexual. Poisoned. To me, nothing can justify that.

The reason most homosexual people are scared to come out, is that they are scared that they will not be accepted. they are scared that they will be beaten up or bullied or teased. They are terrified. In a world moving so far, so fast.. Why is this still an issue? Why do people still use “You’re so gay” as an insult? Why is being homosexual illegal in SO MANY COUNTRIES? This really saddens me and this is one thing I really wan’t to make a change in.

There is one other thing that commonly happens. People often say, “You’re fighting for gay rights. You must be gay”

Please explain to me the logic behind this. Just because I am fighting for gay rights DOES NOT MAKE ME GAY. And even if I were, why would I not come out and say it? I AM FIGHTING FOR THE LGBT COMMUNITY AREN’T I? And, excuse you, but my sexuality is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

If you are still reading this, I thank you. If your opinion differs from mine, please comment on this or something, I would like to have a conversation. Simply because I wish to know your point of view, not to enforce mine upon you. Once again, I am entitled to my opinion, and you to yours. Thank you.
