Discover your unconscious biases using Project Implicit

You probably think you’re a fair and open-minded person. You make sure to be friends with people from diverse backgrounds. But you’re not immune from the effects of the society that you grew up in, are you? Could it be that you carry several unfortunate and unwanted associations that are stereotypical and discriminatory? Find out from the website of Project Implicit! Project Implicit was founded in 1998 by three psychology researchers from Harvard University, University of Washington and University of Virginia.

Get started here! Learn about the implicit association tests (IATs) and how they might be useful in learning more about yourself and in your endeavor to remain fair and just.

Once you have familiarized yourself with the IATs, go ahead and take a test! You can take tests on whether you have biases regarding gender, race, caste, weight, skin tone and more.

Once you have gone through the demonstrations, you might want to come back and share your thoughts on the comment section here.
